Manually Configure Mail In Outlook

Configure mail in Outlook account is a very easy task. This tutorial describes how to create a new email profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2015, in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, and in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. Outlook also help you to save your mails from internet mail Providers. There are two ways to Configure outlook.

  1. Automatically detect and setup Internet email.
  2. Manually setup Internet email.

To Automatically detect and setup Internet email:

  • Open Outlook.
  • Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings.
  • On the E-mail tab, click New.
  • If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next.
  • Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information.
  • In the Your Name box, type your full name.
  • In the Email Address box, type your e-mail address.
  • In the Password box, type the password of your mail.
  • In the Retype Password box, retype the password, and then click Next to begin the Auto Account Setup process.
  • Outlook will then try to automatically configure your account. If you want Outlook to automatically enter your email password, make sure that the “Save this password in your password list” check box is selected. If your account is successfully configured, the Add New Email Account dialog box indicates that the account is created successfully.
  • Click Finish, and then click Close to complete the account setup.

*Note:- Some of the ISP not configures with this method. To configure them following manually setting as describe below.

To Manually Configure mail in Outlook :

  • Open Outlook.
  • Click the Tools menu, and select Account Settings.
  • On the E-mail tab, click New.
  • If you are prompted to Choose E-mail Service, select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, and click Next.
  • Then select Manually configure Server setting or additional server types for Manually Configure mail in Outlook . As shown in figure.
  • Click Next.
  • Then you will prompted for enter Your information.
  • In the Your Name box, type your full name.
  • In the Email Address box, type your e-mail address.
  • Select Account Type POP3/IMAP.
  • In the Incoming mail server box, type the name of the server in lowercase letters. e.g.
  • if your email is on geniustricks.com, then type mail.geniustricks.com. Or the enter the IP as Given by your mail service provider.
  • Type same in Outgoing mail server (SMTP) as you entered in incoming mail server.
  • Again Enter your mail id in username field & password in password field.
  • Don’t forget to check on Remember Password Box.
  • Then Select More setting & in outgoing server tab check on My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Then select Advanced Tab & Enter incoming and outgoing mail port no given by your mail service provider.
  • Or you can use default as shown in figure.
  • If you want save a copy on server check on box Leave a copy on server.
  • Click OK>>Next>>Finish

Now you can use your mail on outlook.
